yep, still around, was on a small cottage lake and they were popular with pontoon owners, most had the double prop saltwater model....they pushed around a 20' toon just fine, nice and quiet obviously

looks like you're short on transom room? that would be the main advantage imo..otherwise a transom mount trolling motor would be more versatily and you could still rig up to the main o/b and have steering control from the console for trolling

yup.
i have a real good electric, but there's no room even for it on my transom.
my only other option would be to mount my electric on the front of the boat.

i saw that set-up in the pic on a boat out in saskatchewan last year.
thought it was pretty neat idea.
