This weekend hunt with a new 10 yr old kid

Hi All,
Want to take our son (11 yrs) and daughter (13 yrs) out hunting this long weekend. We have been out a number of times (without them) this season in region 8 with no luck! Many areas are closing or already closed. Anyone have some ideas where we could take them this weekend (not more then 6 or so hours from Vancouver...) that they could have an increased chance at a deer or moose or elk? I am only familiar with princeton area of region 8.

Reg 8 has open season White Tail for the kids. If you know an area in 8 already go back. The snow up high may help your cause too.

check the regs. Open whitetail does for the youth in some regions for November. thats where I'd go with the kids.

You're also open to any buck for Mule deer in region 8. You're talking about a huge area that's within a 6 hour drive. Just pick an area and go!
Deer hunting's getting a lot more exciting at this time of the year with the use of scents, rattling and calling em in. Have fun with the kids!

Thanks all, I can't wait to go actually. Just disappointed so far in how few deer we saw in Sept and Oct. Just looking for meat now.

There's another Mulie bow and youth season end of Nov till mid decemberish

604redneck - there a nov 25-dec10 bow season for mule bucks in R8. It's any buck until Nov 10 for youth in R8. Either sex WT for youth until Nov 30. Then any sex bow only WT until Dec 20. There's no late youth season for mule bucks (unless they join in on the bow season).

Right you are! That one almost slipped by me! For some reason I thought it was for the month of November like white tails
Too bad that my son has football playoffs on Sunday and a practice that he can't miss Saturday. I think I'll go out for a day hunt Friday with my daughter.

It's not hard to do Mijinkal. When Reg 3 is very close in some areas and is open for much longer the line gets blurry!! Any intel you want to share is welcome. Fire me a PM when you get home. The kids had a good year, but now that Dad has his first white tail LOL
