Hooked up with Lorne and a friend this am, we were going to target a field we haven't shot before. It has been holding geese for a week or so.
We set up and bs'd for a bit, then it was go time. The ducks began to fly, we didn't set robo out as we were there for geese. But that was short lived after the 3rd flock passed us over, a single came in locked up and got dropped. Then we put up robe's and it was on, there was ducks everywhere. I got into a couple good volleys, didn't take long and we had over half our limit, then the geese started to fly. But of course the first flock about 100 specks, and they shorted us in the far end of the field. And then the swans joined them, and another flock of lessers as well.
So we decided to fill the rest of our duck limit, we were 2 ducks short of a three man limit after an 8 shot volley, that emptied the field. All the birds got up and start flying, circling the field over and over and over and over and over again (god speckles drive me nuts) finally after a ton of calling and flagging we managed to break off a small flock of birds, being lead by a honker. We sucked them in and they locked up like a dream, we managed 5 of the 6, as I went to pull the trigger on the last one all I got was a click (only loaded 2 shells after the last volley on the ducks) So we rounded up the birds and decided to get our last 2 ducks and then get outta there.
in came a single it got dropped, and then a pair came in locked up. We decided drake for the finish if possible. so we land them, and sure enough 2 susies. So I pulled the 303LP1 special and swatted one of the susie's

Earlier in the shot during one of the first big volleys, Lorne shot a birds that was coming right at him at approx 5yds, and it landed right in his blind, this is the after math
