Grouse on Texada Island?

I'm planning a trip to Texada and wondering how the grouse are there.
Its open and legal.

is all it says. That doesnt tell me if its good or not, only allowed.

I've seen grouse there - not many, but they're there. I even saw a big blue (sooty) grouse there once (in a bluffy area at the higher elevations).

Lots is good! Was this recently you saw them? Are they Ruffed?

Just got back from Texada last night. I did not see a single grouse the entire time. (Mon afternoon to Wed morning. Lots of walking and driving on Wed.) And the weather was clear most of Wed.
