Not much for alpine around your area, you have the same idea, but it is rolling ansd less hiking to get too. I assume these guys do well there because others can't hunt there because of the effort needed. My knees won't handle it so all I can do is admire the photo's

In southern BC Alpine starts roughly at 5500 feet so ya aways up,maybe a little late for this year depending on your snow level up there, check out some topo maps, google earth is also good.
My favorite place to hunt for sure !
Ill PM ya a cpl spots to try for next year.......by the way there are no dumb question

Okanagan is noted as a valley with lakes, but stretch the mileage a bit and you have Hunters Range, Park Mountain , Pinnacles, Greystokes is almost there, several areas in the Monashees, Tsius , Queest, Silver Star, Big White.................

if you go up trinity and take the many bush roads you will hit alpine, go out to the kettle and that area and you will hit alpine. Spent my whole weekend there.

Talk to some sledders in your area, they know how to get to the alpine. The only place I know around your area would be up Spanish mountain.

Not sure about a tool, but the elevation is posted at the bottom of the page and changes to match the location of the cursor.
