Native to BC? Large olfactory opening, large eye sockets, large beak but little protuding. Not a raven or crow, or Magpie. Doesn't look like a raptor's beak, but the large eyes say otherwise.

I'm not 100% on the sub-species but it is a Grouse.

When I 1st saw it, I was stuck on some sort of raptor because of them large looking eye sockets - Grouse never entered my mind.

Hey; I just take the damned pictures - :lol:


I know they have been beetle cleaned but that's about where my knowledge ends.


The 'junk' in this fella's nose is actually the exoskeleton of one that got stuck, while mining for, Kling-On's. :shock:
