Just wondering how the (second) opening for moose looked today
Around 7-20. We head up that way Thursday morning and was wondering
if they are out and about...

Looks like the weather is taking a bit of a nose dive over the weekend
so hoping they are still looking for luving.

Thanks.

Yes they are moving around a lot lately. I have been seeing about 6 per day driving to work. Heavy snowfall warning starting this evening for the area. Snow forecast everyday for the next week.

I just got home today from there, saw a big bull by one island lake road, wasn't able to makeout enough points or brow tines on him though, was 300 yards and tried for a closer look then he took off. saw about 5 cows with calfs, elk were MIA... saw two the whole trip, and we were hunting on private property lots of the time too.

well the bull moose i got on the 18th liked what i was saying but i still had to run through the bush to get him as he wasn't comming to fast, a perfect eating 6x6 with a 3 pt brow on one side, the elk on the other hand are getting extreamly shy as they seem to be hiding out in order to recover from they're rut. both mulie and whities are just now starting to test each other and rubs are starting to show up.

In camp now just south of Dawson. Snow and weather is making everything move. Still the odd hot
cow around making the bulls travel around. Two hanging in camp and still seeing more everyday.
seen a couple of cow elk on th power lines etc but they are pretty jumpy and not sticking around for the shot.
Watched a black wolf cross a cut at 800 yards.... No shot.
Weather is hard on the quads and gear.
