Out in the bush today 3-19 looking for anything just general scouting, found a decent 35inch plus bull moose been there for I would guess about 2 weeks all the meat is gone still smells disgusting fresh bear tracks and assume wolf/coyote have been in and out of there lots as well, has anyone shot and maybe wounded a moose or know anyone who has could be a reason it died but also im sure could be wolf kill.

I'm assuming its legal to hunt that class of moose in 3-19, so maybe the shooter did look, and look hard? Why jump to conclusions and assume someone just shot it and left it to rot?

Where in 3-19

Could have died from natural causes too. Never know. Heart attack or stroke. Animals have sicknesses also.
Jel -- the coroner would be able to tell -- but prolly wood int go all the way up there -- too costly eh?

So why jump to conclusions at all, like a wolf kill

There is not a lot of bull leh 8 I believe in the area he was in. There is a and b in 3-19 and we have 2 of the ones in a and I know 3 others that have it as well

I don't think you can but don't take my word for it. Call local co and ask him.

this answers the question, need to apply for a permit to legally keep the antlers, will look into one maybe, nice rack.

how would it be different then picking up dropped antlers? or do we need to get a permit for collecting drops?

If you want to be driving around with a fresh set of antlers attached to skull cap, during hunting season, with no tag or LEH - fill your boots. The advice of contacting the local CO is an obvious start.

You need to get a permit to legally possess this. Total cost=$75.

The difference between drop off antlers and having the skull is they can be found without hurting the animal. If you take the skull it is 99.9 % sure to be dead. So someone had to kill it, and they don't know if it was you who did it without a draw or out of season and no cut tag. You said it was 35" so not really much of a moose, rack I would not pay to get a permit.

I found one this weekend as well in 3-19. A cow moose shot and left. It was not lost, as I spotted it easily from the road. Likely shot as a small bull, with no horns. Nothing removed, no predator activity around it. The *ss chewed out by the birds, as well as the eyes

Makes one sick Caveman to think that somebody maybe calling themselves a hunter would do that. All the future moose calves she may have delivered.

The person who did this is the same type of person who shot that hunter at Pink Mountain. Careless and stupid.

I've seen a few over the years in this area. Also came across a fawn carcass dropped off in a camo tarp, and a blue tarp, this week. Didn't realize WT does were open and didn't pay that close attention to it. Just thought about it being a fawn. Why leave the tarps? I looked at them, found them to be in decent shape so salvaged them, rather that leave them for the next 20yrs to breakdown out in the bush.

Just came back from a week in 3-19, both dad and i had the same bull in our sites from different vantage points at approx 200 yards. Had 3 on one side and 99% sure only 2 on the other.tryed to get a closer look and he didnt stick around.Never took the shot!,gotta be 100%.
Not saying these moose were shot illegally if theres no proof ,but i would love to see the full extent of the law thrown at anyone who does not have enouph integrity to respect proper hunting ethics.
