Moose rut on in MU 5.1?

Just curious as to whether people out in 5-1 have noticed the rut being on, done or? Also, how generally does the rut impact the bull's behaviour? Do they just get more stupid like the rest of the male species, come down to lower elevations?

saw a bull and a cow a week ago...seems to be on. these winds and warm temps won't help.

Was there hunting the long weekend for my buddy's bull draw. We only saw cows and nothing was coming to calls. Did not see one gut pile anywhere. Very warm there which did not help at all.

Yeah, we were there a few weeks back and it was quite warm. Next Sunday's forecast is calling for some flurries so hopefully that will change things up a little. If we can find the few bulls we spotted 3 weeks back we'll be very happy.

I was up by Sheridan last week and there were 3 moose heads sans antlers at a clearing off Sheridan West FSR (I think). Somebody was gittin' some.

Rut has been going strong since the start of Oct for sure. Lots of calls. Now if us locals could ever get a draw :(
