Hi everyone, though I like to share my hunting with you. I wanted to do a fly-in trip for a very long time, but don't seem to have the right partner until I met Alex who does fly-in hunt very often until he lost his partner to sickness. We decided to fly in this year but around April, I was dignostic with prostate cancer which put a damper on my trip. Alex convince me to put something on the wall to look at during my medical recouvery and so I told my doctor to postpone my surgery 1 week after my hunt. We left vancouver and drove 21 hrs. non stop and flew in the next day. The next 2 days weather were too nice, saw a few caribou no shooter fishing were great. On the 3rd day, I saw this one on top of the mountain. We check it out with our spoting scope and it was legal. After noting the landscape, I put on my pack and raceup the mountain. Almost 11/2 hrs later, I found the landmark that I was looking for and quitely sneek up behind the caribou which by now bedded down. All I can see was just behind the neck and the head so I waited for it to stand up. After 2 mins. waiting I decided that there is no way I can miss at 60 yards. So I aim for the neck pull and pull the trigger and down he goes. In my exicement, I forget how to use self timer on my camera. It took us 2-60 years old men 3 days to haul all the meat back to camp. We also saw 5 mountain goats that we can't get to across the lake although we have a canoe because the water were too chopy. A few days later' a big Grizzlie with 2 large cubs luckly there did not come to our camp. Had my surgery and resting and thinking about the 4 point season even though doctor advise not to do anything for 3 months.

Feel free to check out the photos in my profile.

Very nice.....good example of grit and determination......thanks for the inspiration as I know I'm sneaking "up there", and that is one of my fears. As a hunting partner said a few years ago, "I hope I never get too old to get above treeline".

Man that is very inspiring! I hope I have the piss&vinegar to do that when I'm 60! Congratulations on a great hunt, and best wishes on your recovery - I have a feeling that all of those great memories and positive emotions will help your body kick the sh*t out of that cancer.
