I've had an interest in trying Pheasant hunting, but I don't have a dog and don't know where to try to hunt them. I used to see a lot in the orchards around Kelowna. Any advice or tips on where to hunt them around the Kelowna area?

ya most are on private land so it will take some scouting and door knocking.

I have seen a few in the field right before UBCO right off the highway. Haven't seen them in the bush for years. If you get one shoot me a PM, I'd like a few feathers for a buddy who ties flies....

Also remember that there is no shooting allowed within Kelowna city limits. As the city expands that eliminates areas to hunt. And if you do find an area wouldn't hurt to see if you can go out with someone who has a dog. Pheasants can be pretty hard to put down and for that reason some landowners frown upon dogless hunters. As a pheasant with a broken wing can still easily outrun a man.
