Went up to my cabin for thanksgiving and to try a fill my leh . Saturday morning found me and my dad in one of my favorite moose spots did some calling and glassing and nothing to show for . Went up the road and seen are 1st cow moose and watch her for a while ,she was by herself .Seen another cow moose later on again all by herself .Seen close to 20 does and fawns that morning as.
well . Back to the cabin for breakest and out again for a look around with my nephew ,who also has the draw . Are neighbor had seen a big bull all buy himself that morning so we where off to have a look . We never did find it but did see a cow calf . Back out again that night and seen another cow moose and lots of does and fawns no bucks .called it a day and back to cabin for dinner and some beer's . Back out again sunday and we seen more cow moose and deer, finally seen a couple of small bucks but I am tag out for mulie in that area and my dad could not get a shot off. Back to the cabin for the day to do some work and turkey dinner . We had a early dinner that my brother and sister inlaw had made . WHAT A AWSOME MEAL. Great food and great friends .After dinner back out again seen another cow moose and more deer no shooters. Called it a day and back for beers around the fire. Next morning back at it again to another good spot .Got there a daybreak and seen a cow moose watch her for close to 45 mins a nothing else around .Did some calling and more glassing but could not locate any more moose . We countinued on and seen some deer and met up with my neighbor. We talked for a bit a countinued on again a came across a pile of ravens that where feeding on a gut bag from a deer . Before we know it i see my neighbor driving like a mad man towords us .He tells me there are 3 moose back down the road where we just where and one is a big bull .Off we go back as I come into the block I see them .It's a long shot so I came up with a game plan ,I left my dad with my neighbor and took a radio and stayed in contact with them . On my weigh in I seen 2 more moose but couuld not tell if any where bulls. I closed the gap to within 100 yards .I seen a cow 1st and then i seen a bull . 1st shot into the boiler room and he walked about 20 feet and then i put one into his neck for save keeping and it was all over . Bull down . My dad and neighbor witnessed the whole thing from where they where standing . I would like to thank my dad , neighbor's and brother in law and my nephews for there help . Back up now to fill the other leh and maybe a couple of immy's for the other's in are group.

Ok. I gotta know. How the hell did you get the Moose in the jeep? It looks like it's in there in one piece.

I guess the only response is "Why?" I put a lot of meat in my ol' Jeep over the years. Way easier to do it in pieces. How'd the backdoor handle the bouncing down the road for the way home? Those doors are $hit to begin with, why bend it all up by leaving it open?

Good times...
