Took my son on his first moose hunt this year.
After being dropped off in the morning we spent most of the day setting up camp and doing a little fishing.
Took a stroll that evening an immediately noticed some fresh bull sign. A few calls that evening and with no response.
Back to the same spot the next morning and tried calling again. About an hour later this guy showed up.
He did not go far. Even though he was near the shore it took 8 hours of hard work to have him hanging from a meat pole.
We had planned to stay a week but the weather was extremely warm (25+ degrees). Started to worry about keeping the meat so sent a SPOT message for an early pickup. The trip was shorter than planned but both of us had a great time.
