Melanizm, spelling??? Much rarer than an Albino, if that is your picture then you might have truley seen the first and last of your lifetime. Real cool!!

Saw it on a show before. At one end of the spectrum there are albinos, the black one is from the other end of the spectrum. Cant remember the name of them.

They're called "Raven Spirit Deer", and all hunting of any kind is banned within 200 miles of such a divine animal.

On the upside, they taste like cocoa! :D

Who took the pic, where etc. That would be a really cool thing to witness for sure. Reminds me of the white moose around Fraser Lake, though the white moose are more common.

Any of you guys ever see that melanistic buck a woman shot down in the States? Pic was circulating a few years back, but here ya go:

Personally, I wouldn't have shot him, for the sake of letting him spread his genes for MORE potential black-bucks like him.

I shot a melanisic Pheasant once, I can't remember for sure but I think the defective gene that produces the color phase also makes them sterile

Years ago I seen a Black fork horn Mulie taken near Green Lake. It was in The back of a pickup at the old Buck and Doe in 70 Mi. Apparently they are the rarest of the color phases.
