Like a first person shooter, except it's real.

How good is a pointer that flies off into the bush alone like that?

Great video ! That grouse was not going to stick around any longer , no matter how long the point was held ! Good job ! I think the dog sensed it !
Where was the shooter lol ! Thanks for sharing really enjoyed that ! What cam were you using !

English Pointers can cover a lot of ground - great dogs if you can keep up with them. We really didn't see how far this dog ranged, just that he has real wheels on him.

Looks like the he did a good job. Locked up tight when he found the bird.

Not close enough ! That was a dificult bird to keep on the ground, dog did a good job !

For all we know - the hunter could have been close enough to take a shot. The dog could have been circling, the vid doesn't really show that.

Thats why a pointer is a covey bird dog a lot of the pointer men use GPS like houndsmen, they are great to watch on open ground though. In the field trials they follow them on horseback. Exactly why I prefer a flushing dog they are trained to work in gun range BUT that being said a lot of the versitiles brits and setters dont run near as big

I didn't hear a shot, or see a dead bird. I used to own Springers, and a dog that fcked off like that got culled.

Whatevs, better luck next time.
Keep your enemies close, and your dog closer.

Watching that video made my head hurt and upset my stomach.

On the upside I did have a great poop right after watching it. Thanks.

Ive never had to "cull" a spaniel for that reason although I have had to "reach out and touch" them E-collars work wonders when used right.

Dude, why you gotta rip on him. Last thing I heard was that grouse wasent open in the spring. Maybe he was just testing it out.

Is it just me, or does that get old real quick? Was good for about 8 seconds. Hard on the eyes!
