Well I Finally got my first moose on Sat Oct 6 in Kelowna. I never thought that I would get a LEH draw after what happened last year.It all started on Thursday when Dan and I were to meet up with Bruce at camp.We drove in the back way into camp that evening after work, on our way in we had a cow/calf jump out on to the road and watch us for a bit then took off into the bush.We didn't see anything else on the rest of the drive, but when we got to the campsite there was no camp to be found and where was Bruce.

We drove out to find Bruce the way that he was driving in, we found him and his motorhome stuck in the creek crossing since 2pm.It didn't take much to get him out but as we were there a young guy came by on a quad , we ended up chatting with him and he showed us a vid of a huge bull that was in the area that we were hunting in.So we went to the site and set up camp, poor Dan had to leave to go back home cause the lucky guy had to work the next day!

Bruce and I were up the next morn all ready to go to get that huge bull ! We got set up in the slash Bruce made his way up the side calling on the way up.The bull responded to the call and was on his way down to us grunting all the way, then all of a sudden there was a flash of a white tail of a doe that was 200 yards away. She went tearing off and we don't know what spooked her cause there was no wind and we were not moving. The bull ended up taking off as well, we tried to call him back but it was a no show on his part.

So after his departure we went on to a couple of other spots to try our luck, but no suck luck we seen a few grouse ( no 22 forgot it in camp) and a mullie doe with a fawn.It was 10:30 so we went back to camp Bruce jumped out to make some breakfast as I drove down the road to see if anything was moving. Well the deer were moving ended up seeing 12 mullie does/fawns and 1 spike buck who did not want to stay as soon as I made eye contact he was GONE !

(having issues with uploading photos) So after the spike took off I went back to camp for breakfast and to get Bruce to continue on with our day.We ended up seeing a few more does but no bucks to be seen, as the day went on there was nothing around but a few grouse and this time I had the 22 with me :-D so we went back to camp to meet up with Dan.So Dan and I went out for the evening hunt ,we ended up seeing the cow/calf again and nothing else.

The next morning Dan and I head out 2 mins down the road there was the cow/calf again, we watch them for a bit to see if there was a bull hanging around. We watched them for about 20 mins and drove on and they would not get off the dam road, we followed them for about 400 yards before they got off the road.We drove on and there was some does Dan got out with his binos to have a look ,he heard a noise to his left and bam the spike buck is taking off deeper into the bush but the time Dan got his gun it was gone again!

The rest of the morning we drove around checked out some other areas this time we were seeing white tail does and fawns no bucks at all.Bruce called us on the radio and he miss out on a big 4x4 mullie . We ended up meeting up with Bruce around 1pm and he was heading back to camp to get some firewood cut,we told him that we were just going down to the end of the road then back to camp to help him.

We got half we down the road did some calling and nothing was happening , so we decided to turn around and go help with the firewood. We made it about 5 mins down the road and the calf jumped up out of the creek onto the road, we saw the larger moose down in the creek thinking that it was the cow. WRONG it was a 4x4 bull standing there I jump out load my gun and BOOM hit him were it counts down he goes, then he get back up and starts to take off Dan follows up with a shot to the head down he goes for the count !
