Has anyone found that bears have some attraction to trail cameras, I have had bears scratch their backs on the cam (making quite entertaining videos) and eat it and rip off the tree and take away (no video but bite marks and claw marks and a broken camera found 50 yards away) seems they like them

I havent had any problems with bears but had elk wreck a camera last year and poke a hole in another this year.

I had trouble with a bear last Sept it hung around for a few weeks and ate my bait. This kept alot of the other animals away as well. He also knocked my camera to the ground one day, but it was ok. I am going to set my cameras up later this fall in hopes of avoiding them.

Here are five TC pictures of how it played out.

I think bears are just naturally curious. So far ( first year) I have had no problems with any of my cameras, just some nice pic's of bears. Maybe my cheap Tasco's don't taste so good...

definitely have had bears be curious about the cam and scratch them off the tree. Haven't had any destroyed yet though

had one ripped off the tree and eaten by a black bear. I have pics of the whole event
Do you think they could smell your scent on the camera, and that makes them curious?

Bears just seem to like plastic, including trail cams and jerry cans. My cams are in very sturdy steel boxes, lagged and cabled to the tree, just because of bears. Nothing like seeing tons of tracks leading past your cam only to find it upside down, on the ground.
The only thing a bear likes better than eating a trail cam is dragging around dirty pampers!!

They don't like the human scent.

This guy was kind enough to relocate my trail cam for me a couple years back. I have numerous pics of bears that have given my cameras similar attention
