Some pics from this past season of guiding. I started in the Yukon and really struggled to find the sheep. This was a new outfit and we went in pretty much blind for the first couple of hunts. We were 1 for 3. We were able to find several good 7 year old rams which we passed on. After I left things improved considerably (coincidence??) and they took some great rams. At the end of August I flew up to Arctic Red with my wife for a couple more hunts. It was a wacky weather year but tons of fun all the same.

Enjoy!

I did get a handfull of kills on video this year. The sheep in the snow was an awesome stalk and he was killed at 60 yards on camera. It will be a little while until I can get those posted up.

looks good.

Did you get to do the horse trip out? Sounds pretty haywire. Glad I wasn't part of the rodeo on the way in there.

I didn't take part in the horse trip. You should talk to AW about that. It was a tough, unmaintained trail by the sounds of it. Very cool country and a great adventure. Hats off to those that did it. The horses came out in good condition in the end. I think it was an education for sure, and if its done again next year it will be even better. The hunting was very successful with the horses and they got to hunt some country for moose and caribou that doesn't usually get touched.

He was telling me about it, sounds like the trip out was better than the trip in but still pretty darn challenging.

That was around the 10th of Sept I believe. We got kindof a freak snowstorm that dumped 1 1/2 feet where we were and almost 3 feet in base camp. Couldn't fly the cubs for several days and sheep hunting was very challenging. Luckily at melted within a week and then it got quite warm and windy for the rest of September. Not exactly ideal conditions for moose and caribou!

We actually found those 3 big bulls within a mile of each other. The widest we thought would be about 65-68", but all 3 are obviously big mature bulls. Not sure what killed them. Suspect a tough winter or something as they all looked to be about the same age.

Absolutely, not for the faint of heart! Even the trip in went alot better than it could've by the sounds of things. It was a green string on unknow country = potential wreck!

i think the unknown story of their demise is what makes special pics...to me anyways .

Great looking pictures Bruin. What beautiful country you are hunting in. Thanks for posting I enjoyed looking at them. That would have been quite the site to see all those bull moose alive in the same drainage during the fall.
