region 8 bear popullation

Does anyone know if the population of bears is going up in region eight like around the south okanagan? I've never seen so many bears as this year n every other year I've been out hunting way more often. saw 4 alone yesterday looked like a grizz and her two cubs then a big black bear wandered down the road to where I was sitting in my lawn chair.

I was out camping with like 6 other guys n what a good time but these bears are everywhere this year. :mad:

Just got back from the northern area's of 8-05 the only bears we saw were runts. I wish we'd seen more, lots of time left yet!

I saw 4 yesterday alone. normally I see 2 or 3 a year I've seen 9 this year already and I haven't changed my hunting areas or patterns just that i'm not out as much this year.

I grew up here though n have always spent more time in the bush then this year n seen like a 10 to 1 ratio from this year to last year. saw 2 bear lastnight one gave me a false charge even. this year there everywhere. I see one or more more times then not when I go out this year.

I have a pig bear in my future, but he's in 3.

Spent all weekend in Princeton looking for a bears never saw any, Lots of Scat but no bears, couple does and limited out on grouse. Hit the road check at manning saw a couple people getting tickets. Funny when you're looking for them you'll never see them. Try next weekend.

I was also near Princeton this past week and saw 12 bears. Many Sows with cubs and one real nice Boar. Will post photos soon.

I'm over between osoyoos n rock creek is where I normally hunt.

Way toooooo many bears in 8.......good reason to put some on the ground to save some fawns/lambs/calves!

I've a lot of bears so far this year too in 8. 4 grizzlies and 3 blacks in 3 days of hunting. Compared to seeing 2 in the last 10 years or so. Not sure the reasoning, maybe in for a hard winter?

In the spring i saw plenty up in the north ok, only one this fall while hunting though. He didnt care one bit about me... Just wanted into that corn field. I've seen more bear this year than others thats for sure.
