For any of you wild turkey hunters out there, this is the best recipe around:

Step one - defrost and let age in fridge for a minimum of 7 days.
Step two - pre-season with preferred spice.
Step three - heat oven to a mere 200 degrees.
Step four - place the turkey on a fresh cedar plank, and let it slooow cook in the oven for 30-36 hours.
Step five - open up the oven, chuck the wild turkey, and eat the cedar plank! :-P

And my question is how does the meat on a cow elk taste compared to a bull?

While bull elk does taste pretty good and I prefer it to moose and deer I would have to say cow elk is better. Usually the flavor is close just more tender.

Elk calves are the best. Ask any retiree in Region 4X, or any Grizzly bear in BC.
