I'm heading up to mcbride for round two of my bull draw on the 6th. Just wondering how the moose activity is up around them parts. Any info would be great......

last weekend it seamed to be heating up. middle of the day saw three moose. one bull was with a cow. i'm sure you'll be fine on Oct 6.

I think that will still be fine. Truth is the rut lasts until mid Nov. The peak rut is usually mid/end Sept to mid Oct. But I've called them in as late as the begining of Nov as the 'second' rut kicks in. 80 - 90% of the cows are typically bred in the first estrus cycle and when the next estrus cycle kicks in the remaining cows not yet impregnated will be calling out to get a bull. The second rut isn't as responsive as the first but I've still harvested a moose at that latter time by calling them in. I say call from mid Sept to mid Nov.

Should be going hard now, I spooked a cow on the side of a road the other day, she went in the trees, I got out did some grunts and she came right back out.

Few years back we cow called a bull right to us on Oct. 8. Lots of time for calling.
