I appreciate everyone thank you. I would just love to talk to the people that were there and try to put the pieces together. My Dad has been fishing those lakes since he was little. Fishing was his lively hood and he has never fallen out of a boat before. Unfortunately he wasn't wearing his life jacket. I just need to talk to them to say thank you for trying.

I can relate. I fell out of my canoe years ago, no life jacket, earlier in September, but the water was still cold. The shock of immersion sucks the breath out of you. I breast-stroked my submerged canoe to shore, took 25 minutes to hit the shore. I crawled up the small bank and lay there for aleast 15 minutes before I was able to stand. I was young, but moreover, I was lucky. From that point on, I always wear my lifejacket in a small boat now. It is near impossible to re-enter a small boat without assistance, but I will float.

Thanks everyone, I was able to talk to the retired firefighter who tried to save my Dad, he was very upset and shooken up. But I got to say thank you for all that he did and he got to learn a bit about my Dad, which helped both of us so much. My heart is in a million pieces now, but I feel a bit better now that I got to do that and bring his stuff home.
