whitetail behavior

Hey guys
I am wondering what do whitetails like to eat at this time of year? I found a few bucks around 1800m in july but I dont see them anywhere now. I am hunting near vernon so everything is dry but I still see deer in the mornings, just not the guys i want to shoot. Would they have already moved down in elevation? Or is it possible that they are still in the same areas but have gone nocturnal? It doesnt seem possible to still hunt the high timber cause its too thick so if they have gone nocturnal i guess im stuck waiting till snow flies. Any tips on what to concentrate on would be appreciated.

I'm in Kelowna and i'm having the same kind of trouble. I kind of figured it was just because of how warm it is and the bucks were just staying up higher than i'm able to get.

I saw a spike today, but I think the big bucks are still around but only moving after dark.
