Hey just curious if its a fact or rumor i heard a huge 8x9 non typical possibly new b.c. record bull elk was taken out that way the other day! anybody else heard of this?

Rumor around PG is that there was an elk taken out that way that will be pushing the #1 spot in BC, apparently a few guys laid eyes on it in town.

dana
09-26-2012, 06:04 PM
So let me get this straight, pushing the #1 BC spot means pushing the #2 World Record Spot. A bull that gives the Arrowhead bull a run for it's money and sits just behind ol' Spidey? This is one time the saying "This thread is useless without pics" really makes sense.

God I hope not......who knows how much pressure that would bring to the area.....I like sharing my pics and I always give info to people that PM me about specific spots, but you will never see me say where I got something or provide enough background to guess ever again....I've learned my lesson hard on a fishing site that is obviously monitored by people that are in the position to shut places down.

Saw pics today of a Cranbrook bull. 8X7 that I've been told goes 410. Judging from the pictures that doesn't seem like a stretch at all. It is hands down the heaviest bull I've ever seen with incredible tine length. Dana, your friend showed me the pictures this morning. Amazing BC bull.

The pics I have are of an 8x8 maybe there is a sticker I can't see in the photographs that would make it an 8x9. Anyway, it is well over 400 with huge circumferences and long tines. I have no details on where it came from.

So chance are that the average hunter, unless associated, has no chance in hell of hunting the property where that monster was taken. Not too much sense of getting primed about it.

I am patiently enjoying this thread play.
Those that know are respectfully being tight lipped.

Respect.

Regardless, it's one hell of a bull and props to the proud hunter. I hope he respects and comprehends what he has.
WOW

Interesting how sub-cultures are developing in regards to how real time information/knowledge is being shared.
Not just hunting...business and information trends as well.
Less main stream and more "tribe" oriented.

I learn a lot by observing how this type of info plays out.
Far more to this website and thread than just pics and stories about hunting.

...... I have digressed yet again, LOL.

World class bull, BC gem to boot.
Love it.
Congrats.

LMAO!!! Gulable or just haven't been around the internet for the last 5 or 6 years. :) That Selway Bitterroot Bull has been floating around the emails and hunting sites for years now. The best pics I ever saw of him was him alive eating out of his dog dish. :)

As for the second bull, lets see who remembers that one. And nope, it isn't ranch raised. It is wild and was killed long long before Spidey was ever a glean in his mother's eye.

That second bull was killed long before the internet craze. And with the first bull, one didn't need to be on the net for 5 minutes and you would have seen it 10 times over. I wonder if it is going to make the emails again as a BC bull now. ;)

Come on people, a legit 500 inch bull and you guys don't recognize it? The hard-core elk guys on this site are slippin'.

I'll only post it up if 10 more random guys sent it to me. By that time enough people have seen it through emails that whatever secret the hunter was trying to keep, ain't a secret anymore. ;) The simple fact is, in this day and age, if you don't want the whole world knowing about your animal, best not to show even closest friends as once it is sent once, it is sent hundreds of times.

The picture of the Dunkley elk is going around PG at warp speed its no secret anymore I just don't see it as my place to post a picture of someone else without their permission. P.S its not going to push 400! 380 Maybe! Its tough to tell by the picture but if I was going to take a crack at the score I would guess 358.

Throwing numbers at a picture is always tough.
If he is only 380", it's the biggest 380" I have ever seen.
He is going to have 2 mass measurements on each beam that will push his score up 20" from that of a normal bull.
Looks pretty darn close to the magic that is 400" to me.
But again pictures are hard to judge from.

Saw this one mid sept....purportedly from creston area.
I respected the fact the pic was shared with me back then and I, like select others, did not forward or POST.

This is not the Dunkley lk bull however.

The fact remains that some incredible bulls have hit the ground this season to date.
The 400" that I have pursued with conviction for 20 years has been reality for 2 or 3 resident hunters this season.
