cow elk down in 7-20 zone A

I had some friends come up here from back home. They were hunting before I could get time off so I met them at their camp on thursday night. It was beers till midnight and up at 5 am to look for an elk. I left my bugle in the truck and just used my cow call, kicking myself for leaving the bugle. I followed the sound of a bugle that I thought was another hunter. I went to have a look anyway and found a heard of elk but the bull wouldn't come out of the thick stuff, at least not to a cow call. Congrats. I just got back from 7-32 last week and also dropped a table trophy, cow elk. I called her in with a bugle. The bull would not show himself. Was getting late in the hunt, so, this year we eat cow elk instead of thinking about the bull that got away while sipping tag soup.

Great job on the cow , they have been my choice over a bull the last few years as well.
