Re: Ft St james;

My group had a draw for that area years ago for Moose.
It's the only camp we've ever struck early, and gone home from.
That's all I can say. Few Moose, no deer, nothing else at all.

Oh, I forgot: TONS of chickens. Place was lousy with Huns and Ruffies.

Ft St James: Great area some active logging in areas keeps it easier for finding those black stumps, been quite successful in the area

The "Fort".
You cannot hunt in Bowron Lake Provincial Park, so that limits you to the area to the north in Region 7-06. The area to the west and south of the park is Region 5-15 and is only open to moose under LEH permit.
I think the prospects in the region of Fort St. James are vastly improved over 7-06.

Not to rain on your parade Dude, but I question the fact that there are huns in the Ft. ST James area. Ruffies and spruce grouse for sure.

There ain't no hungarian partridge in the Ominica area unless they are releases from someone's game farm stock. The only places in BC that they free range is southern Vancouver Island and the Similkimin/Okanagan and Boundary/Kootenay country.

Geez, can't get away with anything here anymore.
Spruce Grouse, my bad. Sleep deprivation from the Yard Ape is my only defence.

Turrin lake or great beaver lake have good camp grounds and the fishing is pretty good at turrin.
