09-19-2012, 08:19 PM
Hi I am born and raised in Maple Ridge BC, I have spent most my life hunting out of Batnuni lake east of Quesnel for moose with my dad we took a lot of moose out there over the years as well as grouse and rabbit, but he passed away 8 years ago and I haven't hunted since so tomorrow morning me and the wife and our 4 boys are going up to chilliwack lake area to start to get our kids into hunting we are just going for grouse but might get lucky and see a deer. Thats a bit about me and thanks for having me on here.

Go up Tamahi and or Elk Mountain road drive the roads, the ditch chickens will be filling their crops with little sized gravel from the sides of the road and in the ditches eating grass.
Jel .. Good luck up Chillywack River valley for grouse, gorgeous country with lots leafed trees and berries.

Good luck and welcome to the site.

Haven't been up that way this year but you may find it's worth the extra hour or so of travel to go up the fraser canyon. I've been seeing great grouse numbers up that way and most of the grouse I'm seeing are in groups of 2-3.
