Don't let the anti's have their way! Let's keep one of the only hunting programs on public tv on air. My young boys really enjoy watching it and let's support the Beasleys and their show.

So sign the petition!

I hope this is a joke. If not then you missed seeing the greater picture here. This about much more then hunting shows. This about a politically very extreme minority that wants to dictate what people can watch on the television. I've received inside information from the Vancouver Humane Society that they want to use "the positive momentum we gained with the ban of hunting TV shows" to start a petitioning campaign to the government to have all hunting and gun magazines banned from public display on the newsstand shelves...like in Germany. These petitions are an international effort and we need to counteract that attack on our rights as a united front or risk loosing bit by bit everything.

wild tv shows it and alot more

But Wild TV caters to only hunters. No one else bothers to subsrcibe to Wild TV.
Keeping hunting shows on nation wide networks keeps "us" out of the closet and exposes non-hunters to hunting...and that's sometimes all it takes to recruit some new hunters.

Of course my comment was tonque in cheek, but here are some thoughts;

1) Do we hunters want a public station hunting show that, like it or not offends people? Remember 99% of BCs population doesn't hunt. By keeping CIR off the air, it will keep hunting below the radar instead of inflaming anti sentiment.

2) Put CIR on the speacialty channel like Wild TV. All hunters know of this channel. If you really want to watch the Beasleys flog hunting gear go for it on the Wild Channel. You don't see the Playboy channel on public television either.

3) There is no way the government would ban hunting, mainly because it is such a huge cash cow. They would stand to lose hundereds of millions from what we hunters spend on hunting.

4) Lastly, and it's a selfish point, do we want the Beasleys promoting hunting to get more hunters in the bush to kill more of a dwindling resource. It's not just the wolves causing the decline.

Done, but there's more to this I think. Just watched Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters this morning on GLOBAL, pheasant hunting with a hunter in wheel chair. Why is that good but Canada in the Rough and Canadian Tradition not?
