Did an overnighter for the first two days of the season in the Squamish Valley. It's still so thick up there that it's hard to spot birds, but we managed to find three -- as well as a pound or so of chanterelles (first of the season, at least for me).
And since everyone seems to like dog pictures, this is mostly a post of dog pictures.
First bird:

Someone set up a homemade dart board at my campsite (apparently for blindfolded darts):

Relaxing after 15 minutes in hot pursuit of a bear (knew what the dog was tracking after I stepped in a still-steaming pile of bear scat). Saw no bears.

Turns out my GPS does a countdown to sunrise (and sunset) -- see top right. Really handy for shooting time.
