Which type of spotter do you own? Which power of binos do you own?

This poll won't tell you which is necessarily better, as I think there are more straight spotting scopes and 8-10 power binos on the market, however it will tell you what most people own.

My spotting scope goes to the range, and goes hunting for goat.

Today I just picked up my Vortex Viper HD 20-60 x 80 angled. Have a 10 x 50 Pentax DCF WP (about 15 yrs old but great shape). Pentax great optics (bought it for about $575 back then). Vortex...WOW!!!!

I have a pair of 6x leupold binos and a straight 20x fixed gold ring spotter. I have been using my 25x hd video cam on a tripod though and you can play that back :)

I have straight and angled swaro's , the angled comes out every hunt. 10X52 swaros....love em.....those who say they are too heavy need to pull on their 'big boy pants' , lol

I had an inexpensive straight spotting scope for a few years. When I upgraded I went with the angle head, I think that because I am tall I find the angle head is easier to work with.

I don't think there is a right answer here, it is what you are comfortable with. See if you can try them both in real field conditions.

15-56x65 Zeiss Diascope FL (angled)
10x42 Zeiss Victory FL

Both are amazing - Glad I purchased the angled spotter, a lot easier to use once you get used to it. Easy on the neck, no strain.

I have a straight spotter. I think the angled one is ideal for the range, especially when shooting prone.

I use 10x42 Pentax binos. They work great. A little heavy, but clear.

I have been thinking of a new spotter as well. After sitting in the alpine looking at grizz all last week with the angled spotter, I will never use a straight one again.. My new one will be a Swaro..

I have the angled ziess 65tfl 15-56. It is amazing and also use a pair of 10x42 leupolds. Going to give the tripod a try with the binocs as well this season. Was also tempted at buying a 15x bino for the tripod as well but how much glass can one guy carry?
