Some have been wondering how my t-cam is doing. Well ive been busy chasing mulies and didnt give it much attention lately. As well I now have pics of 4 different hunters, none seem to have noticed the camera. I havnt been baiting it lately, but they seem to be hooked on the salt block. I checked it today, i had 114 pics in 2 days, then batts died  . In those 2 days i got pics of 5 bucks ive never seen or had pics of, before!

5x5??? no they are all 4 points from what i can tell, the 2 bigger ones are almost identical except 1 only has 1 antler!
i thought about posting the pics of the hunters, but im sure someone here would recognise theses guys as they are definately locals to have found this spot. i dont want to piss off anyone, as well they will realise that there is a camera and might go back and steal it! Ive left a letter inside, addressed to the thief, reminding him that i have his pic and what i might do if someone rips me off!

Does that salt block have any mineral for antler

Blue salt blocks are cobalt, red are iodized (iodine) pale red/brown have sillenium, tan is trace mineral......

Blocks at this time do nothing for antler growth, but gives them something to lick on for a change....mmmmmm...Salty.......

Well guys i have some sad news to report (maybe). Today i went to check the t-cam, huge blood trail going right by it! After alot of hiking-investigating, it appears someone poked a deer at least 500 yards from my cam, but the deer ran a long ways! It bled badly, but ran up and accros some hills and right past my cam. (no pics of wounded deer) it then ran at least another 500 yards to its end, and the hunter did retrieve the animal! So i had over 200 pics, it appears the big "what to do buck" was at my t-cam at 3:30 licking the salt block, then carried on his way! half hour later a deer ran past the other way bleeding hard, but cant see the deer. After that i have a pic of the hunter blood-trailing with a flashlight in the dark! I fear he got the big buck as he was quite regular lately, and hasnt been photod since. All the other regular bucks are still hanging around. Im bumming as i was hopping to find his sheds and get him next year as a 180 class buck!
If any kelowna people know of someone who poked a big mulie on the westside on the eve of the 6th, try to get some pics for me!

Mark, are you busy hunting, or chasing the 'Peter parker wannabe' award ? Although it is good that someone found the buck.

Well Mark, unless I missed something here, mule deer are only open with a bow in region 8, since November 10th(or 25th?) Regardless, the 6th was bow only in region 8 (the westside) So unless that chap took a 500 yard bow shot, ;D then I guess your thinkin that big muley may have been poached?

I know of quite a few guys (10-15) who hunt the westside, from school etc. Ill ask around.

RiverOtter

I beleive he said the buck was shot about 500 yards from his trail cam. I thought the same thing at first and had to read over it a couple times.

Sorry for the misunderstanding guys, i believe the deer was arrowed, about 500 yards away from my cam site! The deer then ran a long way and passed my cam before it died.

Boxhitch, i have no idea what the heck you are talking about???? But no im not hunting as im tagged out! I was just checking the t-cam for fun!

"H" was on his quad up there and he came around a corner and this 2 pt(maybe the same buck) was standing right beside my motorbike while I was hunting. He said he was outside his ears.

I also saw another 2 point up there outside his ears, but not this guy.
I take it he told you where my cam is?

That moose was a cow, looked like little calf nubs above the ears? but you were there so I guess not.
Merry Christmas to all.

Nope. He didn't tell me. You did:lol: . You admitted you sat 5 hours for your whitie(a guy with no patience for them) and you told me the hillside where you got it. Gotta be where your camera and bait pile are, right? Don't worry, I won't be one of those guys on your trail cam:wink: . A tonne of people hunt that hill and the places that I hunt, I don't run into anybody else, at least not while on foot.
I'm not interested in hunting near your camera, and besides, I found a better place to bowhunt:smile:
Keep the pics coming!!
