Today my 10 year old son shot his first deer. It was a 50 yard shot slightly uphill, took out one lung. One shot only. I was hoping I would get to post a picture like this. I am unbelievably proud of the way he acted and handled himself today.

Congratulations to your son on a great buck! No better feeling than watching your son or daughter take their first big game animal. Well done, dad!

Right on dad, I too was out with my 10 year old son for his first hunt and we had an adventure to remember ,even if there is nothing hanging in the garage right now. To keep it short, 10 ' from a momma black bear and her cub! and 15' from a large spike mule deer, but by the time I explained he cant shoot from the truck window and he started the exiting process, the buck was gone. I would rather teach him to do it right then have him find out later in life that he took his first buck illegally. What a great experience it is to get out and hike, hunt, eat, camp, quad, sneak, did I mention bacon?, eat, camp fire with just your son. I am sure you will agree! It was awesome!. Congrats on your boys first deer, We will be heading out again next weekend.
