Anyone else waiting an insanely long time for a renewal?

I waited over 90 days for the initial. Was waiting on BC CFO tthe majority of it. When I called in to BC CFO office to follow up, the call was answered by a different office who was just helping with the call volumes. From what they said, and what I've read, there is currently a significant backlog in the BC CFO office. Also affecting ATT applications.

Only took 6 weeks for my renewal to come through. My old card doesn't expire till December 2012, so maybe they process early renewals quicker??

Just talked to a buddy who is talking his PAL and CORE. He was told that some people that took the course in April are still waiting.

Has anyone ever been checked for a P.A.L. while hunting? I have only been asked for my hunting licence. I realize it is required and carry mine with me, but have never had to produce it except when purchasing ammunition.

The time you don't have it is the time they'll ask for it. Murphy's Law.

I got checked for my PAL by the RCMP at a roadblock in October. The guy had no clue about hunting though, couldn't understand why I had a gun. I told him it was hunting season and he didn't believe me! He actually called dispatch to verify. Do you still need grade 12 to become a cop?

Sent in via CDN Post my PAL renewal package July 2nd, today July 31st my new PAL arrived. Less than a month turn around including using CDN Post my gosh that is good. I always apply for renewal early as my date is in November and I don't want hunting season screwed up. Good for the Conservatives for getting this system fixed it looks like.
