Yup, good fun. Me and my lab helped packed a 6' Bear last oct that a member on here arrowed at 27 yards in alpine blue berries.

i take my german shepard on my hikes, hes well behaved and listens very well....i was thinking to get him a pack, what a good weight for a dog to carry?

Heading back Saturday to take another look, either way I'll be there ready for the opener... I honestly think there still there.. I did go 3 hours later this time and they could have been bedded down or feeding a ridge over. With seeing the bears I did it tells me that there still enough mnt berries to have them return

im awake early today and hiking in to take another look before the opener

well i hiked in Sept 8th to find one bear about..and it was the bear i nicknamed patchy bear..you can tells its been freezing at night up there...all the wildflowers are dead and the blueberries are getting wrinkly

Monday the opener i passed on going due to the heavy rain sunday night and have worked book the remaining week, i am thinking or planning to return a day on the weekend but im discouraged of going in on a weekend due to local hikers that do also hike up to see the views. I defiantly know they wouldnt want to see a hunter hiking up and surely me taking out my rifle to shoot a bear!

Should i just go on the weekend and and screw them im legal and not breaking any laws..

Nice! I haven't seen a cinnamon phase blackie in my neck of the woods for a good few years now. Last one was 5 years ago, HUGE monster of a blackbear, me with a tag, and didn't take the shot because I thought he was a grizz until he stopped at the treeline and I got a better look at him instead of just his gigantic ass-end hauling ass uphill through the cut. By the time I made the ID he had ducked into the bush, too thick for a shot.
