Well my son turned 10 this winter so I bought him a 243 for his bday. Told him well go get him a bear ,so way we go in the spring lookin for a bear . First night spot a real hog of a bear easy 6.5 footer I put 2 stocks on same bear bear last yr . Spoted him across valley about hr before dark so we make a play on him . I screwed up went to the cut above him looked for him to close to dark . On our way back to the truck there he is standing on the rd , get bipod set up just before son shoots he runs 10yrd this goes on every time we get set up on him tell he has enough takes off . So next evening head back take a little side rd pokin along nice little patch of green landing, bear scoots from right beside truck but u can tell he doesn't want to leave . So we keep goin 200yrd down the rd ,kids goin nutts day what r u doin I want to shoot that bear I tell him what were doin . So we park the truck and sneek back walk up a little rise in the landing there he is the boy gets set up like he's been doin this for a long time.212 yrds walkin towards us I say wait tell he turns no sooner do I say it bear does it there u go I say squezz the trigger boom just dumps him. Does the roll and falls. Pretty happy dad pic is in my gallery can some one post I can't from my cell . The cool thing last spring. I killed one with him in same landing

I'm not one to get emotinal but. It was a very proud day for me . Now he makes me
Deals that I can't shoot. A moose or deer elk untill I get him one . I guess next year he will have to take his core so I don't have to use all my tags lol

That is pretty cool - congradulations on that awsome bear.

Like reading stories like this as I have two young boys under five who think they are Jim Shockey.

Kind of wondering about the "I get the animal first" thing though. -- kidding.. that is what it is all about
