Are there any HBCers that hunt only with a vertical bow?

i hunt with a bow in the bow only season but i'm not a pure bow hunter. by verticle you mean a recurve/longbow or a compound.

By vertical I mean a compound and traditional, no crossbows. Awesome greybark, I am still a compound guy but I am expecting a custom TallTines recurve soon.

I have a rifle but i find myself carrying my bow more and more. Ive killed a lot of animals with a gun and im losing interest very fast. Im going to try and hunt with a bow only this year.

I hunt probably 95 percent of the time with archery equipment. Compound and crossbow. I can't remember the last time I took an animal with the rifle. Plenty with archery though.

...after a decade + of bow hunting with my recurve only I finally got a rifle last year. I'm still an archer first!!...

I am a bowhunter all season long. For me it is worth the wait and I don't much care when big ones walk away. I just keep trying to get close.

Twenty years bow only. 18 with a recurve and recently moved to a compound. (old age)

Pretty much Bow only for the last 12 or 15 years I would guess, until I moved to Canada, I filled my doe tags in alberta with a rifle due to no time to hunt, the last two years I hardly had time to get out, hopefully this year will see a change.

I love just poking around, nice and quiet like and to see what I can sneak up on.

Cheers Noel

First year with the compound bow, I plan to do the majority of my island hunting with the bow. There are some areas that I may prefer to use a rifle but I will try to wait until my mainland trip to bring the boom stick.

Hey Lozzie , good luck with your new archery adventure . I suggest you get a few harvests with your Compound and then only if you feel like it get a dink around used Recurve (Chek-Mate`s TD 2 is a great bow) . You will know when you feel comfortable enough to go Trad if that is your wish .
Cheers

Thanks, I did try out a recurve the one night at the Cowichan Bowmen. Let's just say I'm going to stick to the compound for awhile :)

I take my rifle out a few times a year looking for Mule deer but other than that I hunt with my bow.
