Switch to combination locks and don't worry about it. Just write the combos down and keep it in your safe.

HaHa! You'll like this one. Unfinished basement, guns in gun cabinet, key hidden on top of a framed wall in the basement. Then decided to drywall the basement. oops. took a while to figure that one out, then cut a few holes to find exactly where the key was and then patch'em up! Not my most brilliant moment.

Trigger locks are easy to defeat, if that's your problem. :)

Having driven to the range without keys to the triggerlocks, my insurance policy is a spare set of keys on a safety pin in the lining of my cartridge bag.

If you are going to use trigger locks, go to any locksmith and order more than you actually need.

Ask for them KEYED ALIKE and this will give you spare keys for all your guns.

One for the everyday key chain, one for your shaving kit, one for the truck glove box, tool box, ...

Just curious, What's the purpose of a lock if you're going to have the keys strung all over the place? Why not just leave the key in it... Or for that matter forget the lock all together and take the firing pins out.

Letter of the law, not the spirit. Goes both ways.

A hunting rifle should never be violated with a trigger lock.

To the OP, you better get a little book going to rememeber the important things!
