When I was looking for a springer with that kind of breeding I had to look all over Canada and parts of the US, and all the time you where right at my back yard. To bad Foxton Gundogs didn't come up in my google search. Of course now I'm a French Britany newbi, but I am going to get another springer when I retire. Good luck with the pups hope you get a bunch.

Ah, a natural breeding...seem to be going the turkey baster route recently for my last few breedings. :-(

You are lucky to have working males so close at hand to git er done. :-D

Here's hoping it takes and you get great pups out of the litter

Don't want to hijack your thread and I wish you good luck with the litter... but... what is a French Britany?

Just a strain of Brittany Spaniel, a small pointing dog

Easy to google, Epagneul Breton or French Britany for most of North America. And YES they are register as a brittany with the CKC and AKC. Epagneul Breton with the UKC, and OFA recognizes the Epagneul Breton and the Britany as 2 different breeds.

"Just a strain of Brittany Spaniel, a small pointing dog"

The picture you show is a picture of an American Brittany. The American Brittany and French Brittany are bred to different standards. There are many sites giving information about the Epagneul Breton. You could really say the American Brittany is a strain of French Brittany. I'm not saying its better or worse, it's just different right down to color.

Congrats and good luck.
Sister used to breed springers, wonderful dogs. She started with Newfies, down sized to Springers and now they breed pretend dogs.
As Sis got older she realized that down sizing was needed - she and her ancient husband just couldn't handle the larger dogs anymore.
Have a pic of our Daughter when she was maybe 3 or 4 surrounded by Sis's Springer pups. Sis just sent me a pic of our 2 yr. old Grand Girl surrounded by the pretend dogs. Memories.
