Cool vid. Seen a few around Kamloops this summer. They disappear pretty quick when they see you. I see them in thick bush each time. Seems strange for a crane to be in the middle of the woods instead of near water. Such a big bird, you wouldn`t think they could take off quickly if threatened in the tight woods I have caught them in.

I think that might be the type of bird that has been living in the ravine behind my trailer, about 1/2 hour east of 100 mile. Do they make a loud noise similar to a raven but much louder and more irritating?

Bag limit on those in the pariries. Usually found paired up in fields in BC.

Could be either Sandhills or Great Blue Herons.

Sandhills make sort of a trumpeting type sound......not sure how best to describe but herons can also make an awful racket.

Here is a link to a site that has sounds for both of them.
