Got my goat back from the taxi

Just got my goat back. Pictures don't really do it justice. Majestic Taxidermy in PG did the work. Billy was just about 10 and a 1/4. Pretty happy with the way it turned out and looks good on the wall.

I shot mine in 2009 so you're right on schedule. It's hard waiting that long but he did a nice job.....and it's here now.

Nice Goat, nice looking mount too but ridiculous amount of time to wait ........ there is better service out there all round. Heck waiting that long I'd wonder if I ever get it back. Worth paying more money for better service and peace of mind.

Well I'm not much of a story teller. Flew into a place north of Deas with a good friend of mine and her boyfriend. Spotted the Billy on a hill top from camp one evening and figured he'd be there the next morning. Sure enough he was. Started after him at about 07:30 in the morning, shot him at about 3:30 in the afternoon, and was back in camp by flashlight at about 9. It was a bit of a marathon. Shot was about 340 yards. We range found him at 360 but I closed the ground a little before I shot. Like to say it was a one shot kill but it wasn't. First two shots were low. Third shot connected. Not use to shooting at a steep uphill and misjudged. My friends were in there to kill sheep, I was in there to kill a goat. This trip worked in my favor. I always wanted to kill a nice billy and I finally got one. He could be thicker in the bases but I'm not really into that. Just wanted a nice goat and as far as I'm concerned he is that indeed. And I went with a really good friend. They're harder to find than any sheep or goat you'll kill.
