Well seems to be a good unit. A buddy from BC bought one and I just received a text and location link from him saying they arived at camp which is a 3hr drive and a few our hike west of Ft.Nelson. Let him know I was glad to hear he made it and if he seen anything. Got a reply that they saw a few goats and ewes and lambs while hiking into camp. Pretty cool.
Cant wait to get the one saying they have a ram down!!!
He has used the unit a bit and says that it seems to work very well.

I have been thinking of replacing my Spot with one of these. I solo sheep hunt usually couple weeks at a time, would be nice to communicate with the old lady a little bit in the evenings.

I was thinking about getting one as I run a spot and a sat phone now. The only thing is on extended trips its nice to talk to someone once in a while.
If all I ran was a SPOT id for sure be replacing it with this unit. Wouldnt even think twice about it.
