yh the access is blocked off if you try to get in from the midway entrance. but there is another way you could hike in.....It is a small section of crownland between private property. We seen lots of does in the area but not many bucks...but still is a good hike in

The Old Prospector is a hopping place come Summer Time...

Lived at the KV Forest Service during the summers of 75/76 doing fire suppression etc. A couple of the older dudes I worked with snuck me in to the pub one night and old Ruby looked at me kinda funny and then winked. She knew I wasn't of age,but let it go.. Good times...and Great memories. :-D

I have hunted in that area since 1977. Seen moose, elk and hauled out a lot of deer. Was going to post some pics. Then thought no. I do not need The Dude camping next to me asking if he can borrow some sugar or tp. Not to metion gas to get back home.

Not to shabby in the early 70's used to run with a barrel racer from Midway, now that brings back fond memories to an old guy lol. I still remember having to check our knives at the bar in Rock Creek, lol. I cowboyed up the Kettle around The Lost horse, Hoodoo area great Mulie country on top and some pretty nice WTs in the thickets along the river back then, also a ton of big bears back in the day. Really great country but hard as hell on horses all straight up and down and rocky. Might have some old paper photos of the area and rodeo(which is another story altogether) someplace amid the reno mess lol.

Hey D6dan and Ruger #1 ,,,,The Prospecter Inn was full (pay day) with loggers , millworkers , and members of the two local communes . Well a gorgous redhead in a red dress walked on stage and inserted a casset into a small portable machine and pressed the play key . The promise of an eagerly looked forward event turned sour when a logger dissatisfied with her dancing thru his boot at her . Not skipping a beat she picked it up and rifled the boot at the first patron that came in her vision . In a matter of minutes the stage was littered with a mixture of logging and work boots with lots of worn out running shoes . Too many to throw back she turned off the music and dissapeared off stage .
Ten minutes later she appeared in that red dress and checked out the room . Selecting the richest looking table she sat down and produced a three inch thick Crib board that had drawers built into it and announced "Alright Boys - games on for a dollar a point" .
They would have been better off if they left her dancing . LOL

The second peeler that dressed in Black comes to mind - later.
Cheers
