Well this weekend was a lot drier than the one two week ago lol. I headed up to with Marc and Shotgun John and we had a great time. We arrive late to camp on Friday night and got everything set up, had a quick beer and bs, then hit the sack. On Saturday morning we headed out to the banks and it was gorgeous out there sunwise and a bit breezy.

Short vid of the conditions (click the picture).

Marc hooked up right away.

We managed a couple of chickens and quite a few smaller springs in the 8-12 lb range. We decided to head inside and try some lingcod fishing.

Here is a shot of John taking his rock fish fishing literally lol!

No legal sized lings but we caught some nice rockfish and greenlings.

Some camp snacks before dinner. Mmmm fresh.

On Sunday morning we decided to try jigging first thing and trolling afterwards.

Marc with a decent yelloweye.

Marc and I were catching some nice sized rock fish on our side of the boat and there wasn't alot of action coming from the side John was fishing on. He said "maybe I should sharpen my hook" lol. Not a minute after he said that we heard a bunch of grunting and a reel screaming line out!

Here is John with a nice halibut caught in 58 feet of water.

The fog broke and we decide to troll for salmon inside today. We talked with one of my neighbours out on the water and they had quite a bit of luck right out front of Muscle Beach. We just found the big flocks of birds and followed the bait around. Some good action for quite a while and we managed some more springs and a couple of coho.

Here is John playing a fish inside.

We didn't do too well in the crabbing department. Saturday we only got 2 legal and Sunday we got skunked. One of my neighbours said it was slow this year compared to last. Everytime you go check your traps there's a bear on the beach.

It was a really fun weekend and I can think of a lot worse things to do on our day's off lol. Thank for coming up Marc and John. I would be glad to have you guys back anytime.

Cheers,
John

Thanks again Johnnybear. It was an awesome weekend. If Marc has maybe gained a little weight it's probably from eating too many of Johnny's rock cod buffalo wing wraps.
Great food and great company. Cheers.

Had a great time on the water with John & John. Was a bit confusing at times when both john's answered when I said their names.:-P

Do these sweat pants make me look fat? I think that John's buffalo wings can not take all the credit as I've enjoyed quite a few breakfast put together from Tanya as well. Man can that woman cook. I'm surprised that John doesn't weigh 300 lbs.

Nice to have some fresh fish to top up the freezer! Can't wait for the next trip!
