So as a junior i put in for doe in region 5-1 as my first option and region 5-2 as a second. The odds for doe in 5-1 was 1.0:1 so.... Today I got a letter in the mail saying I was successfully drawn for region 5-2 so how would get NIL with odds to 1:1?

You didn't get a NIL...by the time your 'draw' number came up, all the allocations were already given out, therefore you got entered for your second choice which was successful.

As well the odds in the synopsis are NOT for this year's draw, they are for last years draw, and are only put in there as a general FYI so you can get an idea of how hard it may be to obtain. The successful draws LEH authorizations will show you the odds for this year, but of course we don't get the pleasure of knowing the odds for what we didn't draw until next year.
