I put in for goat in this area and got it! I'm from the island and am looking for some tips and info for this hunt. I am not familiar with the area and have never hunted goats . What is the best tactic? Is it possible to do in a day or is it likely to spend a night or 2 on the hill? What is the access like? Any help will be much appreciated

I haven't had a tag in B, I'd go check it out, find out the access and where the goats are, I think there's roads into that area? Practice identifying billies, have some decent glass, practice hiking steep hills and you are good to go. Nice country, it's worth taking some time to explore.

Thnx that was my plan. Looks like there are roads into it on google earth. Definatley need to practice identifying them. If I get a chance I will drive up and chek it out before the hunt

You can't drive up the road along Texas creek.... Its no motorized vehicle area. You could mountain bike up it in sept though. I have hunted goat there before but on the 3-16 G side. Got the draw again this year for 3-16 G.

you can drive in there.... the road is closed from april 15 to june 30 to reduce the disturbance of grizzly bears.

Does anyone know where I can get a good map of this area ? Crown publications? Or is there a better source ?

The last time I was up along texas creek the bridge that crossed the creek was really iffy.

Hopefully you get some good info from here, I believe i saw a thread on the road up there on bc4x4 in the trail talk section (not 100% sure if it's the right sub region), worth a look anyway. It's not hard to identify a billy, just takes patience and the discipline to keep looking if it's not, by the time you are in range to shoot you should be able to tell. Good luck, post up some pictures of the scenery even if you don't get one. I had a tag in "a", awesome country above the treeline but lots of bushwhacking and hiking, would love to have your tag

Thanks everyone. Have been getting lots of good info. I hope the bridge is passable. Can see the area really well online and looks like the road goes right up there. I might have to check it out ahead time
