Curious to hear what others are running....

I've currently got an "el cheapo" light inflatable "horse shoe looking thingy", that I wrap in a shirt, but I'm wondering if there is something better at about the same weight/packed volume.

For extended backpack trips, I usually use my Sitka Traverse shirt, turn it inside out, and fill it up with extra clothing from my pack. I tie it up so it actually remains somewhat "pillow-ish". Works for me. An inflatable one inside a shirt would be nice too.

I had a small fleece pillow case that when stuffed with a fleece vest or jacket would be around 12 inches long by about 10 inches wide. It used to work very well but alas, it is no longer with my gear.

Like this one.

Morning, over here on this side of the street, we use a folded fleece top...never really carry anything special. although there is a stuff sack you can get that has fleece on one side. Empty it out, turn it inside out and fill it back up..I always wanted to try that one.

It's just extra bulk in my opinion. I do similar to Rackmaster except i use my sleeping bag stuff sack.

I have a thermarest pillow. In my opinion worth the extra weight/bulk because you can make up for it with better nights sleep.

I have a thermarest pillow also, the medium size rolls up nicely in its own pouch. Doesnt take up much room at all.

I've got a little backpacking pillow... Weighs next to nothing and is comfy. I used to always bunch up my clothes but got tired of that.

I stick my sweater inside my sleeping bag compression bag. I already have both items with me anyway so no need to carry anything extra

I've used a small fleece "camping" pillow but it was too small. I just roll up clothes/jackets now and put them in a pillow case. I like the sleeping bag stuff sack with fleece on one side idea

The Kuiu Spindrift fully packs into one of the pockets (turning it inside out) making it a perfect pillow.

Minimum weight/volume and maximum self-reliance has been my mantra for over three decades. My pack is my pillow.

Have you got one with a favorite flavour?

What do you guys do with your boots? In a lightweight situation, boots make the best pillow. Placed properly together with a shirt or jacket over them they are the perfect pillow.

Never considered laying my head down on a pair of damp stinky boots; guess I've never been THAT tired........

If heads like Bartells were common place, pillows would likely be obsolete......:-P

Hmm, I guess if your boots are that stinky, you have bigger issues than not having a pillow. Wet boots don't matter, put them in your stuff sack. Seriously, learned long ago, the most accomodating and lightweight pillow is the one you walk on all day. Take those boots and give it a try. High tops or low, just face the treads out and away, and lay your jacket across them and your head down the middle. Absolutely the best. You won't go back to some dinky little wanna-be pillow.
