After a dismal Spring Bear season, the daughter came through and put some meat in the freezer!! Bear counts have been low for us this year, at this point last year, between work and hunting we had seen at least 50 Bears!! The areas that normally have had good Bear numbers are all but dry this year!!.......We've been hard press to even find a Bear poo!!!.....Anywho, here is Ashley's Bear, he goes 5'7", not as big as her last one....but at this point any legal Bear is good!! With 1 week left to hunt...hoping to fill 2 more tags, mine and her moms!! Oh yeah, a little on the video, Mom videoed from about 200yrds, we crept into about 50yrds......Hope you enjoy!!

P.S After all the congrats and high fives.......we had another long discussion on gun safety!!.....But I take most of the responsibility!!

Congrats and great video! Yeah, muzzle control is important, though I've been there as a kid when my dad was so excited he was getting ahead of me...

Curious what caliber the rifle is.

Very true!!.....After watching the video I realized that with the way she was carrying the gun I should have had her walking to my left!.....But i am sure that i was just as if not more excited as her!.....But still not an excuse!!.....The rifle is a Stevens 200 in 243win. Thanks for the posts guys!!!

Nice vid clip you'll always have, good shooting on her part ! You always have the whole fam along, that's great.
Watching that barrel at your back all that time gave me the willys though especially being loaded.
Put a sling on the rifle for her and she can keep it on her back. You can also walk behind her with your finger through her belt loop or grab her shirt and give her a little tug when you want her to stop walking or get down. Staying streamline is better for stalks and not getting busted.

Congrats to the young lady, Mom and Dad, getting her out there too ........ as BTS said, I was squirming with the barrel pointed your way, and hoped to see her have to load up before the shot ......... no chance for seconds when it comes to safety and guns. Lots will learn from this thread too. Safety never takes a holiday.
