It's surprising how tough some of the trail cameras are. I had a Bushnell Trophy cam that went missing last fall. Turns out a bear had torn it down, and I finally found it laying in the mud 20 ft away from the tree just a few weeks ago.

There were about 9000 pics on the card when I went through it (card was not damaged). It was near a water hole/salt lick, and actually spent a few weeks under water while the pond level rose and dropped. Going by the dates on the photos, it continued to take pics after that until the snow buried it. Once the snow melted this spring and things warmed up, it snapped more pics until some heavy hoof critter stepped on it and busted the face in. If I had found it before it got squashed, I'm certain it would have been fine.

Yep, mine was 8g, and the camera was set on a lower quality. The Bushnell cameras are a pretty good unit.

What kind of batteries worked for so long? Regular alkaline or did you try the expensive lithium?
