Squirrel Pointer

The other day I was sitting with a couple hunting buds planning our fall elk trip and this picture came up on my laptop. We had a bit of a laugh. No, he's not a hunting breed, but he hunts with me pretty much exclusively. I just need to figure out how to get him in a treestand!

Anyway, he loves squirrels more then anything else on the planet. And he's doing what he normally does when one decides to beak off at us.

That's a point for sure. I think it's an instinct alot of dogs have and is just brought out through selective breeding.

Does he do it for birds at all ? Cool dog . Looks like he is at home out there .

My two Rescued "mutts" go crazy when they see a squirrel or chipmunk. Something about the little furry things running around either on the ground or in a tree that makes them just "WANT" it right now!
