I think I have (spotted goats) but there's no way to prove it as when you zoom in it gets too blury to tell, but it's right where I've seen them in real life.

Against the law to show live pictures without a filter process first for sensitve areas.
Security issues in N America. No live shots or for the purpose of taking advantage of mother nature and her protection from instant awareness and endangerment .. N. American Live Photos Act .. From Outer Limits Camera Security ..

I was wondering this myself the other day. I was gonna do a search of weird things found on google earth and see what turned up. But with most the pics in my area being 5yrs old I'd doubt if the animal would still be standing there!haha;)

Can you imagine if you could see things moving as it happened on google earth?
You'd know where everyone was driving and where they were at.
Jel .. Not going to happen .. maybe an old photograph somewhere of some horses or cows in a farmers field.
from space. One fella said he can see areas where deer bed from space shots, their actual beds are worn and see able.
Those goats are small white snow patches .. A road won't even show up, that's why they outline roads.

LOL, you're a funny guy Dawg.

Per the OP: If you check the dates on the pics a lot are from 2004 or 2005, so of limited relevance even if you COULD see game clearly.

I was surprised once to see a black spot on Google Earth, next to what looked like a really hairy looking creature....bear? Sasquatch I thought???

Turned out the the satellite took a picture on a day that the sun was casting a large shadow on a local A&W, just as my ex-wife and her mother were leaving. The black "spot" was the shadow of the ex's a**, and the hairy thing was my ex mother-in-law.

That's the closest I've ever come to seeing any "animals" on GE......sorry....

I've searched areas that I know hold goats and have never found one yet. If you had the high resolution that larger cities have I guess it may be possible, but they never/rarely have good quality images when you get far from town.

Spotted sheep...the "white" kind;-).

I had reported some domestics located near some wild sheep to the domestic/wild sheep provincial guy.
I gave him the street address but he couldn't find them.
We were chatting about it at the WSSBC weekend...and he pulled out his laptop, fired up Google Earth and there they were hiding behind some tall cedar shrubs which blocked the view from the road!:)

Can't say I have seen any animals that you could tell 100% sure, some odd shapes and figures that could be though. I did find this odd thing on Missezula Lake on the way to Princeton. In google earth it looks like a whale and you can even see the ripple rings for a fair ways zoomed out and at the center of the ring some big white thing that looks like it is half submerged. Heres the coordinates to have a look yourself. 49°46'53.28"N, 120°30'49.86"W

"Spotted goats". Are they a sub-species? Open or LEH only? This is all very confusing!

I've seen a few side-hill gougers :)

Too funny. When I was a wee boy, my older brothers had me convinced that the haggis was a small, round furry animal that frolicked among the hillsides of Scotland. As with the gouger, it had one leg shorter than the other the better to traverse the slopes. Apparently, the way to hunt them was to rush them head on and as they turned to run away, they'd lose their balance on their longer leg and topple down the hill. It took a while for me to clue-in!!

wow that is very strange...the ripple rings seem to be very large. i can see boats around the area though..interesting!

russm86
06-25-2012, 10:55 AM
Yea schilly thats exactly what I thought as well. The boats in the area seem to be much smaller than the big white object there and ripples as u say are pretty big easily visible zoomed out a couple kms I think. In comparison they would be near tidal waves on that lake... not sure the small boats that appear basically as dots would create waves that large....

Most likely a ski boat that circled back to pick up the skier/tuber who had fallen off.

If you cruz the alpine with GE you can see game trails that are many many years old. I have hiked into these areas and shot animals. You can also see cabins and outfitter camps. Love the GE.

I heard about it the first thing I thought was those deer are toast! I'm all for letting nature deal with the deer population!
